The antique dwelling was originally built in 1844 with the existing hand hewed beams seen today. Over time, the property has been artistically restored to resemble the picturesque descriptions of yesteryear – where majestic landscapes entertained travelers brought by rail and stage to experience mountain climbing, summer rambles or partake in the property dance pavilion during the early 1900’s. The barn has recently undergone a spectacular renovation, making the transformation from a working horse farm to a grand venue for any celebration.
Wonalancet translates to Pleasant Breathing. When you consider the Farm’s rich history, the breathtaking, rustic countryside ~ what better way to celebrate your special event or family retreat than taking in the sweet tranquility at Locke Falls Farm.

Thank you for our stay in your home - we had a ball. So relaxing, beds so comfy.McKenny, McClay, Rober Families, December 2015
WOW! What an amazing weekend we had! Everything about this house far exceeded our expectations. We came with four families (which included 8 children!) and there was plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and pantry, and loved eating meals together around the large dining table. We promised our kids snow - and mother nature complied! The beautiful backdrop of snow-covered mountains took our breath away. The kids loved sledding, and we even lit the outdoor fire pit for s'mores in the snow. Probably the best part was the miles of trails right out the back door. The scenery and wilderness were breathtaking! We can't wait to make this a new tradition!Diorio-Van Oots, Hurley-Barrons, Stewarts, Devine-Finks Families, January 2016
Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home! We had a wonderful time!/Moma J & Friends, January 2016
5 Star Best wedding site anywhere near Boston!Samuel July 2014
We are a couple in our thirties from the Boston area who got engaged in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It was our dream to get married in those mountains and that dream came true at Debra's place. Not only is the house extremely beautiful and the perfect set up for a wedding venue (just take a look at those pictures!) but Debra is the perfect host. She has a ton of experience catering and planning events herself, so she was able to anticipate and take care of our needs. Anything we required and she was just a phone call or email away and she always quickly responded. She is also extremely knowledgeable and well-connected. Debra was able to send me a list of caterers and wedding supply rental companies who were all local, reliable and affordable. This sped up my search process immensely and I was grateful to know I would be taken care of by all these vendors. Like hiking? She was even able to recommend great trails and supply us with maps of the area! The property is stunning and perfect for a wedding/event or just getting away. The place is well taken care of and newly remodeled. It used to be a sheep farm and horse corral, so with the remodel it really has this "rustic elegance" and serene beauty, which was exactly what we were looking for. We looked at dozens of properties and event venues and when we finally found Debra's place we knew it was the one. If you want a New England-esque country wedding or simply a great spot to throw a party, this is the place. We had about 90 people, which seemed the perfect size, though more could have easily be accommodated. Our big top tent and all the tables fit perfectly on the lawn just off the gorgeous back patio. We even had live band with a dance floor all lit up underneath it. Nothing could have been more perfect! The house amenities are all modern, updated and elegant. It has the feel of living in a cabin, but also luxurious. The kitchen is large and equipped for a professional chef. You can throw a great dinner party in there. The living room and bedrooms are all comfy and nice. You can definitely sleep as many as she says and house your entire family comfortably to keep the celebration going all weekend! I wholeheartedly recommend Debra's place! Not only is it gorgeous, you will be well-taken care of throughout the planning process!!

This property far exceeded our expectations. The house was lovely, there was plenty of room for our young adult children, and the surrounding gardens, fields, and trails were as beautiful as promised. We even enjoyed a chilly, rainy day by taking full advantage of the working fireplace, and the well-stocked video and game closet. Would love to return with our kids or a bunch of friends for a fall or winter weekend. It really is a perfect house and property for such a trip.Sally, August 2014
We had an absolutely wonderful time at "Locke Falls Farm." The property was amazing, with rolling meadows and pastures, divided by split rail fencing and landscaped stone walls, and plenty of lovely floral gardens. There was a national forest which joined up to the yard, which was full of well maintained hiking trails, which followed pleasant brooks and a river. The house was well cared for and had everything we needed and more. There was plenty of space, so much in fact that we hope to make a return future trip with some extended family! The area was very nice, and we enjoyed spending a day at Mount Washington (just an hour drive away). We also visited the "Castle in the Clouds" (1/2 hour away) and the shops in North Conway (1/2 hour away). On the way home, we passed through a very quaint town called "Meredith," which was also a short drive, which sits right on a lake....that will be a destination next time we come! Very nice rental, and highly recommended. We can only imaging how beautiful it is in the fall! Debra, the owner, was a delight to work with as well, and was very welcoming. Thank you so much for allowing our family to enjoy your home!!Shawn August 2014
I strongly recommend this house for anyone looking to host a large extended family or group of friends. It is totally updated and comfortable with every kind of convenience you would need in a rental house. We were a group of 11 stretching over four different generations from my 86 year old mother to my 7 year old grandson and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the venue. Just wish that we had more time to enjoy the trails and the falls and the outdoor activities in the area. Next time! I would definitely rent this property again!Mother of Groom, September 2014
We had a wonderful fall weekend at Locke Falls Farm. The house has everything we needed for our family. Our boys, who are six and two, loved exploring the house and the property. We hiked the trails along the property in the morning, admired the beautiful fall foliage, spent a fun day at Story Land and ended our trip climbing at Monkey Trunks. It was the perfect weekend getaway. Highly recommend this property to families looking for a home base that has everything and is conveniently located to outdoor adventures, shopping and dining. If only we didn't have to leave... We'll be back!Janie, September 2014
What a lovely and welcoming home! We spent a few fantastic days here around New Years. Having stayed at a fair number of home stays I can say that Debra has everything taken care of. We were a group of 11 women looking for a space that would let us share food, drinks, games and hikes. This home surpassed our expectations. The downstairs is very well laid out with an open kitchen leading into a beautiful sunlit dinning area that leads into multiple seating areas around the fire! (the photos can't do it justice) As we cooked for 11 we were especially pleased by the two ovens, huge stove top, and an amazing fridge and freezer. While the lack of snow prevented us from going snow shoeing, we were able to enjoy some nice easy rambles on trails directly off the property. There is a river that looks perfect for summer swimming. We were in awe of the sunrises and are very tempted to come back and see how beautiful the land must look in other seasons.Amanda, December 2014
Fifteen of us rented this home for the weekend. We were looking for somewhere nice where we could get together to grill, drink, and play some lawn games in the sun. The house completely surpassed our expectations. I knew the home was going to be a good fit from the photos, but honestly they did not do justice. The outdoor patio area by the grill was gorgeous and there was plenty of land. It was also very secluded and private so it gave us a chance to just get away from it all. The house was large with plenty of beds so it fit us all very comfortably. Debra was a huge help and made the rental process very easy and informative. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a beautiful spot up by the mountains.Daniel, June 2015
Our extended family (14) had a wonderful week at this beautiful home. We loved the extensive outdoor patio and fire pit area, as well as the large kitchen/dining/living room areas. There's a great short walk from the rear of the property to the Wonalancet River and endless mountain hiking within a short drive. Tamworth offers a great farmer's market on Saturdays. a distillery, a playhouse, outdoor music and great food from Grammy Gordon's bakery. Debra is a great host, full of local information and easily reachable if questions arise. We will definitely stay again.Mark, June 2015
My 19 year old niece said it best when she entered this beautiful home. "Wow, this feels just like Christmas morning!" This home exudes warmth and a feeling that this home has a history where people lived and loved well. We wanted time together for our large family of brother and sisters with grandmother and older children to reconnect. This was a beautiful setting that allowed us to share meals prepared in a fantastic kitchen and a beautiful patio with a fire pit to share evenings. Must sees include the local farmer's market on Saturdays, the playhouse, Monkey Trunks (a ropes course), lakes and hiking trails. We had a wonderful time and know that you will too!!! Thank you Debra!Deborah, August 2015
What a delightful space! The historic farmhouse on beautiful grounds nestled near the White Mountain National forest trails was a perfect venue for our active family of young adults and their parents. Each morning offered us the opportunity to walk or run on the trails behind the house, and the frequent encounters with the waterways made it easy for our little border collies to accompany us in these jaunts. The kitchen space is fabulous, and so well equipped for us all to cook our meals, and then to enjoy them together seated around that gorgeous pine table. The pool table had its share of action, too. We loved the clear nights to star gaze and enjoy the beautiful weather, or to play croquet; and the quiet of the area was a welcome change for the city-dwellers in our group. We also enjoyed a day at the lake, as well as other hikes in the area; and kayaking. I would highly recommend this space! Thank you for providing us such a beautiful spot for our family to reconnect, recharge, and rejuvenate.Mary Helen, August 2015
I have used Airbnb many times in the past couple years and Debra's home is one of my favorites. The property is huge, so it is perfect for warmer months to BBQ and outdoor activities. The house is quite spacious and even includes a pool table. The kitchen was a favorite of our group especially the dining table! Debra herself has been extremely responsive and understanding. She's been terrific to work with and we as a group highly recommend this house.Justin, January 2014
The house and property was incredible! Probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The house was well equipped with everything which made our experience there that much more wonderful. There was an amazing waterfall and swimming hole right out the backyard, but just sitting on the grand patio overlooking the mountains was just as amazing. Debra, the host, was one of the most responsive and wonderful person I have ever dealt with. This was an all around fantastic experience!Kevin, July 2014
Myself and 9 other guests stayed here for two days. Everyone commented on how lovely it was. It's a wonderful house and the grounds that it sit on were gorgeous and very peaceful. Debra was very quick in correspondence and extremely helpful in setting the whole thing up. We had a very late arrival so she went out of her way to make sure that we would have access to a key. Amenities like soap, shampoo, and plenty of towels were provided so it was the comfort of a home, but still having the niceties you would expect from a hotel. I would highly recommend staying here.Christopher, September 2014
Debra's home was the most amazing place I've ever found on Airbnb. The home itself had everything you could possibly need and then some. We had our family Thanksgiving with 7 people and our dog, Emma! The day we arrived we got 15" of snow, and it was magical! The trails right out back made for awesome hikes during the day, and cozying up by the fire with a hot toddy and playing cards at night was our favorite activity. The town of Tamworth was adorable and I highly recommend going to the Lyceum! Thank you Debra, we are already talking about our next trip!Alexandra, November 2014
This property really is wonderful! You can tell that a lot of time, money and care have gone into making this a unique and special place. From the updated chef's kitchen to the cozy fireplaces, no detail has been spared. My family of four (two children 9,5) and our friends, also a family of four (two children 8,4) enjoyed our stay here so much, we are planning to come here again in the summer to more thoroughly enjoy the grounds. Even the barn was well kept and clean. We highly recommend this property.Errol, January 2015
The house and its grounds were absolutely beautiful. The house was well-cleaned before we arrived. It was also well-furnished, and we were very happy that the kitchen was fully equipped. Our host was also flexible about our arrival and departure timings.Kevin, October 2015
